HLI Provides access to education for youth through its two main project components: the Youth Development Program (YDP) amd the Community Library.  60 young people receive individualized support combined with an array of support services that includes advocating for the students in school, and in their homes where children often face alcoholism and abuse.  HLI provides support for the youth's family with the objective of opening a world of opportunity to children, mostly indigenous girls, toward sustainable, academic, profeesional, and personal success.

Objectives: Increase access to secondary school by offering scholarships to qualified students whose families cannot afford the costs.  Motivate students to achieve academic and professional success.  Provide students with skills and knowledge not taught through the formal education system.  Help parents to understand the value of education and to create healthy home environments.
